EDC API v26.2

EDC API features added in 26.2 only affect API v26.2, unless otherwise specified.

WHODrug B3/C3 Field Label Updates

Release Date: June 12, 2026, 26R1.3 Limited Release UPDATE NEW

Starting with v26.2, the following endpoints have been updated to align with the updates to the WHODrug nomenclature and EDC Coder UI.

Retrieve Coding Requests

This endpoint will now return the following parameters:

• codingrequests/requests/dose (new)
• codingrequests/requests/dose_unit (new)
• codingrequests/requests/substance_code (formerly preferred_code)
• codingrequests/requests/substance_name (formerly preferred_name)
• codingrequests/requests/external_suggestions/substance_code (formerly preferred_code)
• codingrequests/requests/external_suggestions/substance_name (formerly preferred_name)

Set Coding Suggestions

This endpoint will now require the following request parameters:

• requests/external_suggestions/substance_code (formerly preferred_code)
• requests/external_suggestions/substance_name (formerly preferred_name)

Support for Global IDs for Query and Protocol Deviation Endpoints

Starting with v26.2, the following endpoints have been updated to accept and return the global_id parameter.

• Retrieve Queries
  • Option to retrieve queries by id or global_id
  • The response now includes query global_id and query message global_id
• Open Queries by Event ID
  • Create queries by event id or event global_id
  • The response now includes query global_id, query message global_id, event_id, event_global_id
• Open Queries by Item ID
  • Create queries by item id or item global_id
  • The response now includes query global_id, query message global_id, item_id, item_global_id
• Close Queries (by ID / Batch)
  • Close queries by query id or global_id
  • The response now includes the query global_id of closed queries
• Reopen Queries
  • Reopen queries by query id or global_id
  • The response now includes query global_id of closed queries
• Retrieve Protocol Deviations
  • Option to retrieve protocol deviations by global_id
• Create Protocol Deviations by Subject ID
  • Create protocol deviation by subject id or subject global_id
• Create Protocol Deviations by Event ID

Changes with Audit 2.0 Enablement

With Audit Trail 2.0, the following endpoints will feature an improved bulk processing functionality. These changes will affect all API versions if not otherwise indicated. The new functionality requires enabling the EDC Audit 2.0 Live Capture feature, which is under a phased rollout starting in 26R2.
