Developer Features in 25R1

We are pleased to bring you the following additions and enhancements to EDC & CDB Developer features in 25R1.

Veeva Vault Cipher Suite Changes for 25R1

Release Date: December 18, 2024, 24R3.2 Limited Release UPDATE

Beginning with the 25R1 release, Vault will add support for the following TLS 1.3 cipher suites:

In addition, Vault no longer supports the following CBC cipher suites:

These changes may affect some custom integrations, but not users accessing Vault with a supported browser. All customers with affected integrations will be contacted directly by Veeva Developer Services.

EDC API v25.1

EDC API features added in 25R1 only affect API v25.1, unless otherwise specified.

Copy Form Definitions

Release Date: February 7, 2025, 24R3.4 Limited Release UPDATE

Form definitions can now be copied from a source to a target study using the Global ID parameter source_form_global_id instead of the source form name parameter source_form_name. Note that the Global ID can be retrieved via the Casebook Design Export (CDE).

CDE Enhancements

The Casebook Design Export (CDE) will now show the Global ID as global_id for the following objects:

The CDE will now reflect the enablement of the following study settings:

Protocol Deviations are also reflected in the CDE, including category, subcategory and severity details. The CDE includes data for Codelists and Item Groups if they are related to the imaging module, imaging_related.

CDB API v24.3

CDB API features added in 25R1 only affect API v24.3, unless otherwise specified.

Support for 3PD Data Load

Release Date: February 28, 2025, 24R3.5 Limited Release UPDATE

CDB developers can now import files greater than 50 MB using Resumable Upload Sessions. This supports third-party data (3PD) loads.

Study File Format (SFF) Enhancements

Release Date: February 7, 2025, 24R3.4 Limited Release UPDATE

As part of the full daily extract via SFF API, third-party data ingested into CDB Workbench will now be included in the CSV folder and described in the manifest file.

The Subject casebook version and medical coding requests tracking are now included in incremental SFF extracts, reducing the need to extract the full package.
